During the last 20 years levels of income inequality has in increased in Stockholm and Sweden. There has also been a large increase in the foreign born population. This paper looks on how these trends have affected social and economic segregation in the Stockholm area. We use a new method that measures segregation using individualized neighborhoods defined by the number of nearest neighbors. The paper looks not only on the spatial segregation of disadvantaged groups but also analyses to what extent elite groups have increased their levels of segregation.
